Teachers' professional development
Our founder Chairman Shri D. Rajamanokaran opened his first school in Baba Nagar in 1977. He was deeply moved by how the children of the artisans and the poor were abandoned and left to themselves. He was aware, that unless something was done, many of these children would be a loss to their region and society. He opened another school in the year 1978. He devoted himself to the education of young people, especially the poor. Over 46years he worked with numerous teachers and students from various socioeconomic levels.Although his schools were primarily for the needy, they attracted children from families of different economic backgrounds, However, he could not tolerate social segregation which was the practice of the day. Rich or poor, each child receives the same quality education and the same attentive care. He helps young people commit themselves to productive citizenship.
